Mr. Grimaldi was born May 12, 1927, in New York City. He grew up in New York and was a shoeshine boy. He also once delivered Wonder bread. Mr. Grimaldi graduated from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and attended the University of Mexico City. He moved to Plantation in 1987 . Mr. Grimaldi painted mostly in acrylic paints on canvas, and was profiled in the Chicago Tribune and the Sun-Sentinel. He continued to paint even after losing sight in his left eye. He traveled around the world selling his art.
“It’s hard-edge contemporary, with a lot of geometric designs, shapes, spaces and illusions. “He was inspired by Salvador Dali and Victor Vasarely.”.
